Molonty is a small Czech village, after Rudíkov it’s the second smallest village with only 1 300 inhabitants that sent a team to Prague Games. Coach Jaroslava Malá talks about her team. “In the school we have 136 children, I took 11 girls, one has injured few days before the tournament.” It’s not easy to find so much good players between so low numbers of school children. “That’s why we are so proud of them,” she said.
Jaroslava is a teacher of physical education and German language, she never played floorball but it fascinated her so she started to coach a team. Floorball is number one in this village, sports like basketball, handball or volleyball have no chance there.
In 2010, Malonty team finished on the fifth place in all country tournament for basic schools. This team is at Prague Games for the fourth time. “And we like it here so much,” she relishes.
They managed to build great team in these modest conditions that lost with Chodov tightly 0:1 and with Swedish team Leksand F 97 closely 0:2. Just Huddinge won with a big difference 0:12. “It was not good performance from our side. We played two matches in quick session with just one girl for substitution. Girls were tired, 2 hours between the matches is too little for such a small group,” she thinks. Tomorrow morning, Molonty will end its Swedish “triathlon” in the first round of play-off with Lindås Waves.
Moreover, this story will continue for sure. “Our boys are really smart. They are too young right now, but when they will be older, I will take them to Prague Games too.” Well, we are looking forward!
